Which is the better one of your cyanotypes?

I think that the second one is the better one.

Why is it better?

I think it's better because the objects that i chose to use are ore visually interesting and that detail in the second is nicer then that of the first. I also think that the second one is better because of the choice of positioning that i decided to use. I thin the first one looks too empty but the second one is more intricate. 

What could be improved?

In the first one, what could be improved is that i could've left it out for not as long because the white in the picture is too vibrant and it took some of the detail out of the pouch section of the cyanotype. 

In the second one,i think i should have left it out a tiny bit longer because you were unable to see the detail of the cris cross  on the fabric. Also the leaf moved at one point so there was a shadow.

Are there details you were not expecting?

In the first one I wasn't expecting the dots on the fabric to come out that nice and vibrant and that the detail in the pouch would be so intricate. I didn't think that if i left it only for a minute and 40 seconds that it would show that much detail. 

For the second one, I wasn't expecting that the chain link in the necklace would come out showing each individual link, I liked that about this cyanotype. I also didn't expect that the leaf would have moved half way through and that it would make such a drastic shadow, but i don't hate the shadow, I find it gives the cyanotype more character. 

Are there details you were expecting but did not achieve?

For the first one i thought that there would have been more detail in the leaf, for example the wrinkles in it and the curves, but I guess I left it out too long. Also I thought there was going to be more detail in the strings of the pouch, showing the individual strands coming together. 

For the second one, I thought that there was going to be more detail in the fabric that has the cris cross pattern because the actual pattern itself has different textures, very similar but different at the same time. I also thought there was going to be more detail in the leaf because of it's texture but there was none. I hoped that it would have showed the crinkles and the edges more. I had also hoped that the clasp of the necklace would be more bright.

NATURAL LIGHT

There is a hardness on the amount of light hitting the apple. The highlight is very small but vibrant/"hot spot". The cookies are very textured and show a lot more cracks. The apple has a very large shadow on it and makes it so it doesn't show the whole apple's color.

DIFFUSED LIGHT

There is still a shadow but it is very soft, almost unnoticeable. The cookies seem to be less textured and have less of a shadow. The apple's highlight is very large but still noticeable. The apple doesn't seem very vibrant but it still shows all the color of the apple unlike that of the natural. 

REFLECTED LIGHT (BOUNCED LIGHT)

The shadows are still shown but they are very dimmed and more soft than that of natural light. his version of the scene shows more of the apple's vibrant color and still provides a "hot spot" on the apples top. This makes the scene more eligible for a marketing. The cookies are not very textured but still provide a certain "crumminess".

1) How would you describe the size of what is closest to the camera (such as their hands), vs. what is furthest from the camera (such as their head)?

TELEPHOTO

1) The head looks rather large compared to the hands.

WIDE

1) The view is that the hands look closer to the camera while the head looks smaller (father away)

2. KARATE KICK 

1) How would you describe the size of what is closest to the camera (such as their foot), vs. what is furthest from the camera (such as their head)?

2) Does the length of the subject's leg appear the same in both photographs?

TELEPHOTO

1) There is no part of the body that looks like it's closer or father.

WIDE

1) The foot looks like it's closer to the camera compared to the head.

2)The leg looks longer in the wide angle lens than in the telephoto lens.

 1) Describe the differences in the subject’s features with the wide angle and telephoto lenses.

The telephoto lens makes her nose look larger and her head look larger than that in the wide angle lens.

 2) Based on your observations from all three subjects, what would you conclude is a characteristic of a wide angle lens?

I think the characteristics of the wide angle lens is that it makes the photo appear to be closer or farther depending on the objects in the photo. It shows more proportions compared to the telephoto lens.

 

3) Based on your observations from all three subjects, what would you conclude is a characteristic of a telephoto lens?

      The telephoto lens shows characteristics out or proportion and having no variety in distance comparison to hand to face ratio (for example).  It makes the photo look very flat compared to that of the wide angle lens.

 - The two colours mix together and form to     make the colour yellow.












Mix of yellow and cyan --> make green
- The two colours mix together to form the
colour green, they make a nice green but if the
gels were accurate the green would've been darker.
